Port in the storm
Ultra Sports is excited to announce our new Daytona 100 “official” race charity, “Port in the Storm Homeless Youth Center” in St. Augustine. “Port in the Storm” is an established program of the St. Augustine Society (STAsociety.org) whose goal is to end homelessness in the community. “Port in the Storm Homeless Youth Center” provides 24 beds of safe emergency shelter and support for young adults ages 18–24 experiencing homelessness. Beyond a safe place to stay and meals, youth receive individualized case management, mental wellness support, help completing their high school diploma and connections to resources that can help them move forward. Every service is focused on helping young adults move from homelessness and uncertainty toward stability, self-sufficiency and a safe place to call home. The goal is to nurture potential, promote self-esteem and prepare each person for a productive life beyond the streets.
